Different types of Shoulder Injuries

Shoulder pain is a common problem that can affect many people, especially those with jobs that involve repetitive movements or prolonged sitting.

There are a few different types of shoulder injuries:

1. Tendinitis: This is an inflammation of the tendons in the shoulder, often caused by repetitive movements.

2. Bursitis: This is inflammation of the bursa in the shoulder.

3. Impingement: This happens when the tendons in the shoulder become pinched.

The symptoms of these shoulder injuries:

·      can include pain and tenderness in the front and around the shoulder area

·      pain that goes down the arm

·      discomfort when lifting the arms or carrying objects, especially overhead

·      pain that gets worse at night.

If these injuries aren't treated, they can lead to other problems like neck and back pain, as well as issues with nerve function, such as numbness and weakness in the arms. They can also make it difficult to do everyday activities like getting dressed or washing, and the shoulder might constantly feel achy and tender.

How to treat shoulder pain?

The best way to address any shoulder discomfort it to treat it before it worsens. Shoulder pain can be treated with chiropractic treatments, physiotherapy, acupuncture, and massage therapy. Don't ignore shoulder tension or achiness – seek treatment immediately to prevent further deterioration. The longer you wait, the longer the healing process will be.

While rest and ice can help with tendinitis, it's not always enough. When you experience shoulder pain, it's essential to seek medical help promptly. Talk to your doctor or one of our staff, and schedule a free consultation if you're experiencing shoulder pain.
